Adelaide, 16 December 2013-A prominent rural cropping and grazing enterprise in South Australia’s renowned Eyre Peninsula region has been listed for sale.
Toolarbaa Station, located adjacent to Tooligie township, approximately 109 kilometres north of Port Lincoln and 640 kilometres west of Adelaide, comprises three allotments totalling 12,710 hectares.
The majority of the property (6,602 hectares) is predominantly cropping land on the eastern side of the Tod Highway, whilst the remaining 6,108 hectares of farming and grazing is located on the western side of the highway on what is colloquially referred to as the Development Block.
CBRE’s Phil Schell and Chris Holgar have been appointed by the Arbon family to sell the property via Private Treaty. The aggregation is being offered for sale as a whole or three individual holdings.
Mr Schell said the property’s ability to produce quality, high protein wheat coupled with development potential as a renewable energy and carbon sequestration enterprise would be key selling factors setting Toolarbaa Station apart from other offerings.
“This expansive aggregation holds significant potential for other outcomes additional to its established cropping and grazing operations,” Mr Schell said.
“The vendor is currently in discussions with renewable energy firm Hydro Tasmania to develop a wind farm on the Development Block, and also with the Federal Government in regards to implementing its Carbon Farming Initiative on the property.”
Toolarbaa Station, which is located 36 kilometres north of the renowned grain growing district of Cummins, also benefits from a large-scale sheep operation, comprising 15,000 merino sheep and producing approximately 400 bales annually.
“This property represents a great balance of cropping and livestock, offering both diversity and scale,” Mr Holgar said.
“This is a unique mixed farming opportunity with significant potential for future irrigation and development.”
