Sydney's north sees green for annual CBRE charity event
| 26 October 2016
A wave of green has recently descended on Sydney’s north, with over 70 banners lining the streets from Neutral Bay to North Sydney in honor of CBRE’s flagship charity event, Walk For A Wish.
CBRE’s North Sydney team will join 15 other offices across Asia Pacific in walking 10kms on Friday, October 28 - with the aim of raising funds for various charitable organisations.
CBRE Australia has set an ambitious Pacific fundraising target of AU$200,000 for its seventh annual Walk For A Wish, with the event having raised over AU$1 million for local charities in this region since its inception in 2009.
For the first time in 2016, Australian staff are being offered the opportunity to choose which charity they wish to raise funds for out of over 2,000 registered organisations.
This year staff will be walking through major cities across Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney), China (Guangzhou, Shenzhen), Hong Kong, Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), New Zealand (Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington) and Singapore. Approximately 2,000 participants are expected to take part across the region.
CBRE’s North Sydney Managing Director, Ryan Johnson said the Walk For A Wish event brings staff together across CBRE’s Sydney offices, with staff from Sydney’s north, west and city joining forces to give back to the communities in which they live and work.
“By allowing individual staff members to support causes they feel personally connected to, we are able to be more actively involved with smaller charities in the North Sydney community.”
For the second consecutive year, Commercial Real Estate will be acting as the supporting sponsor for the event.
